FAQ
Questions, in one place
Everything asked across the site, grouped: getting started, pricing, payments, shipping and the storefront itself.
Getting started
How fast can I launch my store?
Right after you sign up: pick a theme, add your products, and your store is live.
Is Tajr really free to start?
Yes. The free plan has no monthly cost and needs no bank card.
Can I take card payments on the free plan?
Yes. Card payments run through Tajr Payments on every plan, including the free one, with a commission that depends on your plan.
Who receives the order payments?
You do. With Tajr Payments, your share is paid out to the bank account you verified, on Tap's payout cycle, once Tap has approved your account. With your own Tap account on Max, card payments land in that account. Bank transfer and cash on delivery come straight to you.
Pricing and plans
Is the free plan really free?
Yes. No monthly cost and no bank card, and your products and orders are not capped. Card payments through Tajr Payments carry a commission, as on every plan.
What do the paid plans cost?
The prices are announced at launch. Starting is free, and you only move up when you need to.
Is there a commission on every order?
No, only on card orders through Tajr Payments, at a rate that depends on your plan and is lower on higher plans. Your own Tap account on Max, bank transfer and cash on delivery carry none.
Can I change plan later?
Yes, from your dashboard, in both directions.
What happens to my store if I move back down?
Your content stays as it is. What the lower plan does not include stops showing on the storefront until you move up again.
Is shipping part of the plan?
No. A waybill is charged to your wallet balance when you book it, and delivering with your own driver costs nothing.
Payments
Do I need my own payment gateway?
No. Card payments run through Tajr Payments on every plan: you verify once and need no gateway account of your own. On the Max plan you can use your own Tap account instead. Bank transfer and cash on delivery need no gateway at all.
When can I start taking cards with Tajr Payments?
Tajr Payments opens once Tap approves Tajr as a marketplace. After that, you verify your store once, and payouts start once Tap approves your account.
Where does the customer type their card details?
On the gateway's own secure page. The card details never touch your shop or our servers.
When does the money reach me?
With Tajr Payments, your share is paid out to your verified bank account on Tap's payout cycle, once Tap has approved your account. With your own Tap account, payouts follow your own arrangement with Tap.
Does Tajr take a cut of every payment?
Only on card payments through Tajr Payments, at your plan's commission, which is lower on higher plans. With your own Tap account, Tajr takes nothing and the processing fee is between you and Tap. Bank transfer and cash on delivery carry no commission.
How do Tabby and Tamara work?
On the Pro and Max plans, you switch each on from your payment settings with your own account keys, and they appear to the customer at checkout.
How do I refund a customer?
It depends on how they paid. Tajr Payments: refunds are processed through Tajr support; write to support@tajr.ae with the order number. Your own Tap account: you refund from your Tap dashboard. Tabby or Tamara: from that provider's portal. Bank transfer or cash on delivery: you send the money back yourself and record it on the order with the transfer reference.
Is there a fee for cash on delivery?
You set it, and your own delivery and collection each carry their own. It is added to the order total, so the customer sees it before confirming.
Can I switch a method off?
Yes, at any time from your payment settings, and it disappears from checkout immediately.
Shipping
Do I need a contract with a courier?
No. Tajr Shipments books from couriers contracted with Tajr, and the cost comes off your wallet balance.
How do I switch it on?
You register your pickup address once, from your shipping settings. That is where couriers collect from.
How much does shipping cost?
It depends on the destination and the order's weight, and the customer sees it at checkout before paying.
How do I top up my wallet?
From your dashboard with a card. Each waybill you book is charged against that balance.
Is cash on delivery available with couriers?
No. It is for your own delivery and for collection from the shop, inside the UAE.
Can I ship outside the UAE?
Yes, across the GCC. The couriers serving your customer's destination appear with their own prices, which differ from domestic ones.
Can my customers track the parcel or return it through Tajr?
Not yet. There is no customer tracking page and no returns handling in Tajr today.
What if the courier can no longer deliver the order?
We show you the couriers that do serve it, and you are charged what your customer paid rather than the substitute's price, whether it is dearer or cheaper.
Can I cancel a waybill?
Yes, and its cost is returned to your wallet balance.
Your storefront
How long until my store is open?
Minutes. You sign up, pick your address and add your products, and the store is taking orders.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes, on the Pro and Max plans. You connect it from your store settings, and your Tajr address keeps working alongside it.
Is the store Arabic only?
No. On Pro and Max you switch English on for your customers and write your product names and descriptions in both. Anything you have not written in English shows in Arabic rather than blank.
Can I bring my products in from a spreadsheet?
Yes, on Pro and Max. You download the template, fill it in and upload it, and you see exactly what will happen before you confirm.
Can I change the theme later?
Yes, at any time, and your store's content stays as it is.
If I rename my store, what happens to the old address?
It keeps working. Links you shared before do not break, and no other store can ever take your old address.
Can I remove Tajr's badge from my store?
Yes, on the Tajr Max plan.
Can I close the store temporarily?
Yes. Maintenance mode stops orders while keeping the store visible.
